United Kingdom 2012 - Day 1: Scotland

Saturday, July 28, 2012

We have arrived and completed our first day here in the United Kingdom! It was an extremely long day comprised of traveling and touring. We arrived in Glasgow, Scotland at 8am Saturday morning to 50-degree temperatures and rain, talk about a weather shock coming from 100-degree weather and 45 days of no rain. The drastic change was enjoyed!  Upon arrival we picked up our rental car and headed 45 minutes east to Edinburgh, Scotland. Glasgow, Scotland is known for their nightlife, shopping, and entertainment, and Edinburgh is known for their historical venues and culture. It was nice to see both cities but we are definitely enjoying Edinburgh more so than Glasgow.

The next stop on our list was The Royal Mile, which consists of an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, pubs and historical monuments. We enjoyed interacting with the locals at the cafés and in the shops as we took in the Scottish culture.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to visiting Edinburgh Castle, taking a historic underground vault tour, and shopping along The Royal Mile.

Stay tuned for more photos and updates! Cheers!
