Wow, what a day! We left the castle B&B and headed to Snowdonia National Park. The plan for today was to climb Mount Snowdon and then head down to Aberystwyth, Wales, along the shore.
Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at a height of 3,560 feet. Mount Snowdon is also the second highest peak in all of the United Kingdom. It was quite the challenge hiking up in the rain and wind; and it took about 2.5 hours to hike 5 miles to the summit. Once at the top, we realized it was not the best idea to hike down with all the slick rocks, so we decided to take the train down to the bottom.
After our eventful day at Snowdonia National Park we made our way to the town of Aberystwyth, Wales to enjoy the town for the evening and to spend the night.
Tomorrow, we are off to Swansea, Wales (the southern most part of Wales) to meet up with some friends and to explore the area.
