Down Under 2014 - Day 10 - The Great Ocean Road

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Today was our adventure down the Great Ocean Road, located between Melbourne and Adelaide on the southern coast. It was approximately a 4 hour drive to our stopping point for the night but with all the picture ops and hikes we took it landed up taking us 8.5 hours to make it to our B&B for the evening. This was a gorgeous drive and there are not enough words to describe the beauty!

Important sign along the road.
Another important sign along the road.
Fish and Chips for lunch in an oceanside town.
The Twelve Apostles.
Loch Ard Gorge
The Arch
London Bridge
Gorgeous night for a stroll
Climbing out where we shouldn't be :)
The Bay of Islands.

One of our favorite activities of the day was our hike we did just off the side of the road. The challenge was to find koala bears sitting in the eucalyptus trees. Talk about a cool activity that you definitely can't do back home! In the first 20 minutes that we hiked around we didn't have to go far to see about half a dozen. Then out of nowhere one decides to walk across the path we were on, it was beautiful.

One of the Koala's we found.
Crossing our path :) It doesn't get any easier finding them this way.

Goodnight from Port Fairy, Australia.
